This week’s reading of Haanel chapter 16 had a great impact on me. In section 15 he reinforces that “whatever enters the mind through the senses or the objective mind will impress the mind and result in a mental image which will become a pattern for the creative energies. These experiences are largely the result of environment, chance, past thinking and other forms of negative thought, and must be subjected to careful analysis before being entertained. On the other hand, we can form our own mental images, through our own interior processes of thought regardless of the thoughts of others, regardless of exterior conditions, regardless of environment of every kind, and it is by the exercise of this power that we can control our destiny, body, mind and soul.”
I thought about this during my sits this week and I cannot express how extremely reassuring it is to know that no matter what anyone says, even when things may look pretty bleak, it doesn’t matter what it is…….I just need to have faith and believe! Keep my focus on my DMP, fill it with vitality, enthusiasm, give if life as it will have no choice but to grow and develop. The law of growth says that whatever you think about grows, so I know that once I hold on and do all these things I will attract everything necessary to fulfil my DMP. However, thoughts are to be taken seriously and there are consequences for negative thoughts, Haanel warns, “If the thought is destructive, it will have within itself the germ of its own dissolution; it will die, but in the process of dying, it will bring sickness, disease and every other form of discord.” I know where my mind needs to be!
Vitrue #2 Kindness…this week we have all been focusing on Kindness. It has made me want to do things to help other people, making it my duty to look for ways to make someone else’s life easier. From opening a door at the shop for someone, helping a mum on the bus with her twins, to letting people get in the queue before me at the supermarket. Being kind to someone does not have to be financial, just a smile can make someone’s day. I hear time and time again from people who are about to or have been made redundant, in financial hardship, bad relationships and those who are ill. A simple kind gesture makes all the difference when you’re having a crappy time and the world just seems to be going against your favour.
You know, this week the world seems like such a wonderful place…..! Even though we still hear about the negative things going on around us constantly in the news, I have made a conscious decision not to dwell on this and make it dominate my thoughts. This was something that I mentioned to my mastermind partner Dominique and what he pointed out to me was that the world is still the same but it was me who was changing…..How great is that! I never thought of that at all. Sometimes we all get caught up in our own little world and maybe not intentionally forget about others. Instead we continue to go off and have a pity party with the WHY ME SYNDROME! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been there too but it just does not solve anything apart from make you feel even worse. Why don’t you try it this week and spread a little more kindness in the world….from picking up litter to greeting someone with a smile. Size does not matter just focus on being kind!
I think Marvin and Tammi summed it up nicely………
Give more, get more………..Until next week!
