Week 13 – Living a Life of Gratitude

Christmas 2014

In this weeks lesson we were directed to focus on gratitude.  I spent time this week directing my thoughts on the past week and the things that I am grateful for. The Christmas break was fantastic, for once I done what I have been meaning to do for years and that was to go away for Christmas.  Even though I heard the negative talk from others saying why go away at this time of year? It should be spent at home with you family.  That did not deter me….this is my story and I am the author, I decide what is right for me.  Have you ever felt more tired during the festive season?  Between doing all the cooking from the crack of dawn, then all the washing up?  Well that’s how I felt, so I decided to do what I always wanted and that was to go to warmer climates at this time of year and have a rest. It was spent with my daughter, niece and grand daughter in Spain. It was definitely good to get out of the cold for a while.

It was such a delight to get up in the morning to this gorgeous view.  I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to share this with my family.  This was a complete change for us from the normal year in year out celebrations but we enjoyed every minute of it.  To be able to walk on the beach and feel the sand slip between your toes.  The cool gentle breeze sweeping across your face and the smell of fresh air and the warmth of the sun shining down on you….. it was such a delight!

I am grateful that I was able to have a wonderful Christmas with my family, for meeting such great people, for having sight to see the beauty of nature and most of all to leave my grand daughter with such a joyous memory.

For anyone reading this blog I ask you to just take a stop, think about your day and give a thanks of gratitude for all the wonderful things and moments that come along today.

May you all have a wonderful and blessed week!!

Wonderful that you went to where you wanted to go and had a wonderful time with select family members. It is an inspiration to take control of our lives and to embrace gratitude as a result1

I’ve had this thought myself Deirdre. I love the courage in doing exactly what you dream of instead of paying more attention to what others think. The photo is the topper. That view could be on a post card. Congratulations on a wonderful trip and permanent memories!
